  • Please help ensure we are invited back by behaving as you’d want visitors to behave in your neighborhood. Enter and exit the event quietly, make sure trash is disposed of properly and stay off private property.  

  • No tailgating is permitted at this event in any of the official parking facilities. Guests consuming alcohol outside of the event will be subject to the City of Evanston’s open container laws.

  • Underage drinking will not be tolerated on site of Out of Space events or in the parking facilities. Anyone under the age of 21 found to be drinking will be subject to citation and removed from the event and no refund will be given.

  • These events are rain or shine. Please plan accordingly. Refunds will not be offered in the event of rain, unless the event is canceled due to extremely severe weather and not rescheduled. In the event of severe weather please check this site and @evanstonspace for the most up-to-date information.

We consider it a great privilege to be welcomed into this community to present concerts at Temperance Beer Co. We work all year to ensure that the events are planned with care and concern for both the guests attending and the neighbors in the area surrounding the brewery. Please ensure that we are able to continue presenting concerts like this in the future and be as respectful as possible as you enter and exit these events.

How do I buy tickets? You may purchase tickets online via Eventbrite, SPACE’s third-party ticketing provider or at evanstonspace.com. No-fee tickets can be purchased in-person at the SPACE box office. Our box office is open any evening we have a show from 5-9pm.

Please note: tickets will NOT be for sale at Temperance Beer Co.

Where is the concert? The event will take place in the parking lot at Temperance Beer Co. (2000 Dempster Street in Evanston; just west of Dempster & Dodge intersection). Please note: SPACE is presenting the event, but the concert is NOT located at the venue.

What are my parking and public transportation options?

  • If you purchased parking with your ticket, please see below for additional information. If you did not purchase parking, there are plenty of spots in the area around the event, but please be respectful to all neighbors and observe all City of Evanston parking signs. We discourage anyone from parking in the parking lot at Valli Produce or in lots belonging to any private businesses. We strongly recommend walking, biking, or taking a ride share to reach the event.

  • If traveling via public transportation, CTA Bus #93 drops off at Dodge & Dempster, just east of the brewery.

  • If taking an Uber or Lyft, there will be a designated rideshare drop-off area located at 2020 Dempster St.

  • If biking, plenty of racks will be available at entrance. A Divvy station is also located in the Valli Parking Lot on Dodge Ave.

I purchased a parking pass with my ticket. Where is the lot located? The lot is located just west of the brewery at Dempster and Hartrey. You can park there starting 30 minutes before gates open. Position in the lot is first-come, first-served. To obtain your pass, please bring your Eventbrite receipt (electronically or printed) to validate. This lot is uncovered. Please note: SPACE/Temperance is not liable for any damage incurred in the lot.

When do the gates open? When does the band start? Gates open at 5:30pm for our shows with Digable Planets, Liz Phair and Yo La Tengo. The gates open at 5pm for our show with Toots & The Maytals. Music will begin at 7pm. Please check the individual Eventbrite listings for updated set times.

Will the Temperance Taproom be open? Yes, the taproom will be open to all ticket purchasers and will remain open after the show (capacity limited). Indoor bathrooms will not be accessible, but there will be plenty of porta-potties on-site.

What is the weather policy? These events are rain or shine. Please plan accordingly. Refunds will not be offered in the event of rain, unless the event is canceled due to extremely dangerous weather and not rescheduled. In the event of severe weather please check this site and @evanstonspace for the most up-to-date information.

Do you accept credit cards? This event will accept credit cards and cash.

Is there an age restriction on this show? This event is 18+, however, guests under the age of 18 are welcome as long as accompanied by a parent. Music fans under the age of 4 years old are welcome for free. Children between the ages of 4-14 years old will require a half-priced children’s ticket which will be available for purchase at the gate. Children 15 and over will require a full-priced adult ticket. All guests will need to produce valid ID to receive a wristband for drinking. Any guests under 21 caught drinking on the premises will be removed and no refunds will be given.

Is seating available? All tickets for this event are general admission standing room only. Some picnic tables and lawn chairs may be available on-site. If you require ADA accessible seating, please purchase the ADA ticket type for yourself. Up to 3 guests may accompany you in the section, but they must purchase general admission tickets for entry. If you did not purchase an ADA ticket type and need accessible seating, please email us at boxoffice@evanstonspace.com. We require at least 48 hours notice to properly accommodate you.

What drinks will be available? A selection of beer, cocktails, wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Please check back soon for a detailed menu.

What food will be on-site? We will have a variety of grab-and-go items, including veggie and gluten-free options.  Look for announcements about food vendors closer to the event.

Is there re-entry? There is no re-entry.

Can I bring a bag into the event? Yes, purses and small backpacks are allowed but subject to search. Please see below for a list of permitted and prohibited items.

Am I able to transfer my tickets? SPACE allows ticket transfers under very special circumstances only. Please call us to arrange a ticket transfer. You will need your first and last name, order number and the name of the individual to whom you’re transferring the tickets. Note: Ticket transfers must be made at least 48 hours before showtime. Transfers are NOT available for sold out shows.

Can I get a refund? All tickets are non-refundable. Please note: no refunds will be made in the case of inclement weather unless the event is canceled.

I have extra tickets. What do I do? You are welcome to sell these tickets and transfer them if needed.  


The event is sold out. Will you release more tickets? Do you keep a waitlist? We do not keep a waitlist, however, SPACE occasionally releases more tickets at the gate depending on capacity and number of no-shows. We strongly discourage purchasing resale tickets through any source other than the SPACE website and our official ticketing provider, Eventbrite. Please be aware of fake accounts within Facebook events promising tickets, and never send money electronically to someone you do not know.


I lost my hard-copy tickets. What do I do?  As long as you provided your first and last name during the checkout process, we will be able to look you up in our system electronically on the evening of the show. Please bring a valid ID, as it must match the name on the tickets.

What’s your photo and video policy? Photography is allowed during performances, but flash is not. We also request that our patrons respect the experience of those around them and refrain from blocking anyone’s view or recording for extended periods of time.

We work all year to ensure that the events are planned with care and concern for both the guests attending and the neighbors in the area surrounding Canal Shores. Please ensure that we are able to continue presenting concerts like this in the future and be as respectful as possible as you enter and exit these events.

How do I buy tickets? You may purchase tickets online at evanstonspace.com. No-fee tickets can be purchased in-person at the SPACE box office. Our box office is open any evening we have a show from 5-9pm.

Please note: tickets will NOT be for sale at Canal Shores Golf Course

Where is the concert? The event will take place on the first and second holes at Canal Shores Golf Course, located at 1030 Central Street in Evanston, IL. Please check back soon for a detailed event map.

There will be “Event Parking” signs on the street. All spots in the lot are first-come, first-served. You can park there starting 30 minutes before gates open. Please bring your Eventbrite receipt (electronically or printed). Please note: SPACE/Canal Shores is not liable for any damage incurred in the lot. Thanks to our friends at NorthShore University Health System for making this garage available to our concertgoers!

What do VIP tickets include? There are a limited number of VIP tickets sold for each of the concerts at Canal Shores. These tickets will allow you access to a gated area directly in front of the stage with some of the best views of the stage. Please note these tickets do not include seats and you are still encouraged to bring a comfortable blanket or chairs to sit on.

When do the gates open? When does the band start? Gates open at 5pm for all events. Music starts at 7pm. All shows will end before 10pm.

Will the Legion Hall be open? Yes, the The American Legion Evanston Post 42 will be open to all ticket purchasers and will remain open after the show (capacity limited). If you’ve never visited, we highly recommend stopping by during your time at Canal Shores. We will be announcing official aftershows in the coming weeks. Alcohol purchased inside of the Legion cannot be brought outside.
